Course Overview
Experienced Keelboat Instructors will learn how to deliver a Keelboat Instructor Course whilst working alongside the Chief Instructor (or Deputy Chief Instructor). Candidates will be expected to teach a number of classroom and on-water sessions whilst providing Instructor candidates with appropriate feedback, both written and verbal. This course incorporates continuous assessment.
Course Prerequisites
- Be a qualified Keelboat Racing Instructor with a minimum of 2 years delivering Keelboat Courses at Australian Sailing Discover Sailing Centres.
- Availability to run instructor training courses and instructor reaccreditation assessments is a must, so you need to be able to commit to being available to run such activities.
- A recommendation from an Australian Sailing Club Services Officer is desirable.
- Complete online Privacy Training Course for Presenters.
Who should do this course?
Experienced Keelboat Racing Instructors with exceptionally high personal standards, a passion for teaching/training and the desire to develop others in the Instructor role.
Course Outcome
Successful candidates will be qualified to deliver Keelboat Instructor Courses at the request of Australian Sailing. They will be expected to assist with Regional Instructor conferences, moderation of Instructor Courses, input into the Program Working Group re: resource development and maintain their own skills and knowledge.
Pending your success, you will gain the Keelboat Senior Instructor appointment certificate.
