Course Overview
The Measurer-Sails and Spars Re-accreditation Course is aimed at updating Australian Sailing members in the basics to conduct fundamental measurement and certification of sails and spars and equipment inspection at Club, State or National level competition.
To become re-accredited as an Australian Sailing Measurer - Sails and Spars you are required to:
- Be a member of an Australian Sailing affiliated club.
- Attended an Australian Sailing Measurer - Sails and Spars Seminar, or
- Provide a log showing you have acted as a Measurer- Sails and Spars or Equipment Inspector in at least two events, or
- Have passed the Performance Assessment in the past four years.
If you wish to re-accredit via submitting prior evidence that meets the above requirements please complete the Measurer -Sails and Spars Seminar Re-accreditation Application Form.
Registration at the top of this page allows you to enrol in an available Re-accreditation Seminar.
Attendees are asked to bring to the seminar:
- A copy of the Racing Rules of Sailing.
- Notepad and pen (or lap top/notebook).
Course Prerequisites
Currently Qualified as an Australian Sailing Measurer-Sails and Spars.
If using the Re-accreditation Form you will need to have the required re-accreditation evidence and a Letter of Endorsement obtained and ready to upload into the form.
Course Price
This is a free course provided by Australian Sailing (The Officials polo is no longer provided).
Who should do this course?
This course is for anyone looking to reaccredit their Measurer-Sails and Spars qualification and continue to volunteer as an official at Club, State and National level events.
Course Outcome
Participants will become re-accredited as a Measurer – Sails and Spars; a person qualified to carry out fundamental measurement and certification on spars and sails only. They are qualified to act as an equipment inspector at any event at Club, State or National level.
