Australian Sailing, with the support of Premier Events, has FOUR opportunities for YOU to complete your Recreational Skippers Ticket (RST) theory assessment for $80 at the 2023 Club Marine Perth International Boat Show.

You will attend an RST theory information session, conducted by two highly experienced assessors - Ray Holt and Wayne Bariolo. You will then have the opportunity to complete the theory assessment at the Boat Show.

Post Boat Show, you will be invited to attend a practical training session, followed by the RST practical assessment for $140. All equipment will be provided, with the session being delivered by one of our highly experienced RST Assessors.

The RST is a qualification based on a set of competencies that have been adopted by all government marine safety authorities in Australia to contribute and to promote:

  • the safe use of waterways.
  • an awareness of boating safety.

It is the minimum qualification needed to operate a powerboat in Western Australia. The assessment of these competencies is in two sections: theory and practical.

The minimum age to obtain a RST is 14 years old. A person requires a RST if they are to be the skipper of a vessel powered by an engine of more than 6hp.

To complete your theory and practical assessments you will need to present:

- Proof of ID (click HERE for a list of acceptable forms of ID)

- Letter of Consent if under 18 (form HERE)

- Eyesight Declaration if you don't have a Drivers License (form HERE)

- Medical Declaration if you have a medical condition that could affect your ability to skipper a boat (form HERE)

PLEASE NOTE ONLY ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS ARE TO BE SUPPLIED
