Course Overview

The Measurer Seminar is aimed at upadting Australian Sailing members in fundamental measurement, certification and current measurement trends. Measurers play an important role within sailing ensuring equipment compliance, being responsible for the measurement of boats and as a source of technical knowledge.

To become re-accredited as an Australian Sailing Measurer - Official Class you are required to:

  • Be a member of an Australian Sailing affiliated club.
  • Attain a Letter of Endorsement from your affiliated Club or Class Association and;
  • Attend an Australian Sailing Measurer Seminar, or
  • Provide a log showing you have acted as a Measurer-Official Class or event Equipment Inspector in at least two National (or four State) events, or
  • Complete the Measurers Performance assessment.

If you wish to re-accredit via submitting prior evidence that meets the above requirements please complete the Measurer-Official Class Re-accreditation Application Form.

Registration at the top of this page allows you to enrol in an available Accreditation Seminar.

Course Prerequisites

Currently Qualified as an Australian Sailing  Measurer - Official Class.

If using a Re-accreditation Form you will need to have you re-accreditation evidence and a Letter of Endorsement obtained and ready to upload into the form.

The cost of the seminar is $155.

Who should do this course?

This course is for anyone looking to reaccredit their Measurer - Official Class qualification and continue to volunteer as an official at Club, State and National level events.

Course Outcome

Participants will become re-accredited as a Measurer - Official Class Measurer; a person qualified to carry out measurement and certification control and perform fundamental measurement and certification. They are qualified to act as an event measurer or equipment inspector at any event at Club, State or National level. An Official Class measurer will have met the stringent criteria for officiating in their stream. Competitors will expect a high level of expertise from these officials. This qualification is a pre-requisite to progressing to International Measurer.
