EOI for Support Staff - 2022 Class World Championships and Youth Sailing World Championships
Australian Sailing calls for expressions of interest for support staff for the Class World Championships and Youth Sailing World Championships.

*Laser Radial Worlds is subject to the number of sailors registered for the regatta.
#Funding for the Nacra 15, Wind Foil and Formula Kite will be based on the number of sailors registered to attend the Worlds AS may assist the coordination in obtaining a coach from overseas to attend the regatta or provide funding to athletes to assist with coaching at the regatta.
Coaching support at Class Worlds must meet the minimum entry numbers to gain Support Staff.
Single Handed - Three competitors entries
Double Handed – Three teams / six competitors
COVID19 Note - At the time of sending out this email, we understand that overseas travel will be open. In the Event, travel restrictions change depending on the Federal Government Public Health Orders. Australian Sailing shall review the recommendations of the well being of athletes and Support Staff.
If the Event is cancelled or postponed, the appointed Support Staff may not be required. However, Australian Sailing shall review the cancelled or postponement.
Requirements
The appointed support staff will be required to participate in the following activities unencumbered of other personal or professional commitments:
- Provide support to athletes leading up and during the Event
- Travel to and from the Class Worlds or World Sailing Youth Sailing World Championships
- Provide Coaching Support at the Class Worlds or World Sailing Youth Sailing World Championships
- Submit an event report to AS within 30 days of returning from the Event
- Liaise with Performance Pathway Team leader before during the trip
- Liaise with AS media personnel daily to allow for event reporting via AS social media channels
Selection Criteria
Mandatory requirements
- At a minimum, current NCAS Level 1 Sailing Coach accreditation or an equivalent international qualification
- Valid government ‘Working with Children Check.’
- Valid Power Boat Licence
- Hold a valid passport
- Must be able to meet Government regulations for COVID19 for domestic and international travel
- Able to attend the ASYT Camp on 20 – 23 April 2022
- Selection of coaches by an AS panel
Selection considerations:
- Current/past involvement in national and state performance pathway programs and activities
- Previous international regatta coaching experience
- Number of athletes selected on the team
- The ‘fit’ of individual coaches and their respective skills into the coaching team and the athlete cohort
Coach remuneration
Class Associations shall be responsible for the following costs during the time away:
- Accommodation
- Airfare
- Per diem (Sustenance)
- Entry fee, if applicable
- Fuel
- Charter boat
- Internet/Sim Card
- Ground Travel
- Open and Closing Ceremony tickets
AS shall be responsible for the following costs during the time away:
- #Corporate Travel insurance
- Coaches will be supported by a grant from Australian Sailing to cover wages or VIK salaries for coaches during the event period. Remuneration will be negotiated with the candidate based on experience and event requirements.
- If nominated to attend the World Sailing Youth World Championships. AS will cover support staff out of pocket expenses (list above).
#Only covers ‘unforeseen circumstances’ and will thus generally cover out of pocket cancellation/change costs.

The EOI closes on the 15 February 2022 COB AEST @ 1700 hrs. The support staff will be notified by 15 March 2022 of the selection.
