Northern Territory Women’s Regatta sees a 2nd year of success
The 2nd annual Northern Territory Women’s Regatta (NTWR) was held at The Darwin Sailing Club (DSC) over the weekend on 21st and 22nd August 2021 and it was a resounding success.

2020 NT Championships wrap

Down time means gardening time at Darwin Sailing Club
After the Darwin Sailing Club was forced to stand down their staff in March things were not looking good for the club grounds as gardening was not the highest priority. A number of green thumbed senior members led by Lindsey Wharton took matters into their own hands.

At 86 years young, Fred Barlow, a Darwin Sailing Club veteran and club member since 1986, is still enjoying cruising on his S80, ‘The Cleaning Lady’.

The Iconic Race Around Tiwi Islands Returns
Dinah Beach Cruising Yacht Association is pleased to announce that entry is open for the 2019 Tiwi Islands Yacht Race commencing on Saturday 08 June. Traditionally managed by the Darwin Sailing Club (and called the Round The Islands Race), this iconic race is now being hosted by DBCYA.

With a list of 26 keen lady sailors It has never been difficult to engage a crew of six, as most of the girls wish to sail at every opportunity. Many have commented that they enjoy crewing aboard ‘The Cleaning Lady’ because they learn lots whilst having fun.Â

NT Big Boat Challenge Wrap Up
Last weekend saw a fantastic two days of sailing with a variety of races and winds for the 2018 BIG Boat Regatta. This year we had 17 boats participating across 4 divisions. There were teams representing both DSC & DBCYA, Defence & GBC had teams chartering 3 of the Elliot 7 and there was also a WOW team aboard Cleaning Lady.

Five reasons every sailor should try a Darwin Ambon
I’m writing this as I fly home from my first Spice Islands Darwin Ambon Yacht Race. From before we left Darwin to well after we arrived in Ambon the race has been an incredible experience, one that I think every sailor worth their salt should attempt at least once.
