Whitworths Tackers Boat Loan Scheme
Australian Sailing is pleased to announce that seven clubs who applied for the Whitworths Tackers Boat Loan scheme have been successful in their applications.
Due to the generosity of Whitworths, the scheme enables clubs to purchase Tackers Boats at a 50% discount. In addition, Australian Sailing will provide a secured interest-free loan for the purchase of Tackers Boats from ‘the boatyard’.
Clubs use the scheme to either grow their fleet of boats to offer more opportunity for younger participants or to initiate the Tackers program at their club. For example, the most recent roll-out of boats has allowed Mounts Bay Sailing Club and Perth Flying Squadron Yacht Club to get the Tackers Program off the ground.
As a result of the 2018/19 applications a total of 46 boats across 7 clubs are soon to be on the water, this is a tremendous contribution by Whitworths and Australian Sailing would like to thank them for their ongoing support of this program.
Applications are set to open again in April 2020 and we encourage all clubs to apply!

About Tackers
Tackers is the grass roots learn to sail program for 7-12 year olds developed around a fun games based approach to learning that is delivered at recognised Tackers Centres, predominantly who are affiliated sailing clubs. Kids don’t need to have any sailing experience or club membership to participate.
