National / International Sport Championships Grants Program 2021-22 

  • Communities, Sport & Recreation Tasmania events grant is currently.  

  • Like last year, Australian Sailing will apply on behalf of clubs who are hosting eligible events between 16th August & 30th November 2022. Funds will then be split between the host clubs.   

  • Please provide the following event details by COB Thursday 5th March

  • Name, dates, venue, States competing, number of competitors, age group (if applicable)

Club Conference 2022 

  • 28th May 10am – 4pm, The Boat House Function Centre, Launceston  

  • A great opportunity for club & class decision makers to network and share ideas.  

  • Guest speakers include AS staff, AS Board, RAC members, and industry experts.

Regional Advisory Committee – Call for Nominations 

  • The Tasmanian RAC is currently looking for clubs to nominate individuals to join the committee.  

  • Each club can nominate one person. 

  • Nominations are open 1st May – 15th June 2022

New Club Equipment Auditor Course – eLearning 

  • The course is aimed at accrediting club volunteers to provide a free safety service for sailing racing. 

  • The CEA Course reviews Categories 3-7 auditing forms

Australian Sailing leads the way on child safeguarding  

  • All Children have the right to feel safe and protected from all forms of abuse, harm, and neglect. 

  • The Child Safeguarding Policy is Australian Sailing’s statement of commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in sailing.

AS restructuring to better support Clubs 

  • Led by CEO Ben Houston, Australian Sailing is undertaking a staff restructure which is aimed at better equipping the organisation to meet the strategic goals as per the recently announced 10-year strategic plan, SAILING 2032

  • With the organisation transitioning to deliver on the three key strategic pillars of Support, Grow and Win, the new structure is designed to ensure Australian Sailing is best structured to support its Affiliated Clubs to thrive.
