The South Australian Regional Advisory Committee was pleased to announce the reopening of the Lexcen Cup Youth Grant 2024 in November for the first time since 2019. The SA RAC, consists of Chair Peter Royle, Lisa Brock, Robert Human and Kym Downie.
Cole Tapper, Hamish Vass, Jack Frewin, Chelsea Williams & Joel Beashel, representing the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, have been crowned 2024 World Sailing Youth Match Racing World Champions after a flawless Finals Series on the Red Sea.
The inaugural Ronstan Junior Foiling Cup was held over 23rd & 24th November 2024 at BYRA Sailing Club on Pittwater. Junior sailors aged 10-16 years old competed in 6 Nikki foiling dinghies. Each sailor competed in 5 races, in a round robin format with a final 6th heat to decide the winner.
The first round of the Manly Junior State Championships kicked off in spectacular fashion last weekend at the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club. Competitors, volunteers, and support crews were treated to perfect conditions, with a sunny northeast seabreeze setting the stage for some thrilling racing. A total of 30 boats contested Open and Novice Divisions, showcasing the skill and enthusiasm of junior sailors from clubs across the region.
Just two weeks remain until the highly anticipated 30th HARKEN International Youth Match Racing Championship, and the excitement is palpable! This year’s event promises to showcase some of the Southern Hemisphere’s finest youth match racing talent, with thrilling matchups between the Kiwi and Aussie competitors.

Fifty-five boats from across South Australia and interstate have entered the 2024 Youth Sail SA Youth Championships, which will take place this weekend, September 28th and 29th, at Largs Bay Sailing Club.
After three days of competitive racing, the history-making 2024 Zhik Youth Sail Queensland event has come to a close, with Champions crowned in all classes on what was a windy day in Keppel Bay.

The final day of the Coaching Clinic at the 2024 Zhik Youth Sail Queensland saw the 280 sailors in attendance fine-tune their new skills under the helpful eye of Olympians and their Coaches, with a fire well and truly lit in the belly of many.
A beautiful day on the water has marked the halfway mark of the 2024 Zhik Youth Sail Queensland Coaching Clinic in Yeppoon, with young sailors from around Australia inspired by their experiences.
In July Darwin Sailing Club in conjunction with Cullen Bay Marina ran their first Making Waves Youth Scholarship. The four successful recipients Jabari, Harlen, Kody, and Ella kicked off their sailing adventures during the recent July school holidays.
You may have seen Fynn flying his Wing around Fannie Bay or Kiting off Nightcliff. Fynn, previously a Minnow sailor is now putting all his efforts into Kiteboarding & Wing Foiling with some big aspirations.

We had a record-breaking 46 boats, with 30 youth fleet sailors and 20 junior sailors participating and 2 interstate coaches in our biggest Youth Sail NT event yet! This year, we were thrilled to welcome a interstate sailor as well.
This past weekend (15-16th June) saw Keppel Bay Sailing Club host their second Women’s and Girl’s Regatta. This regatta came about as Keppel Bay believed it to be important to increase the participation of Women racing, as part of Australian Sailings initiative to promote and celebrate all women and girls involved in this amazing sport.
