Swan River Heat 3 time trialing event not everyone’s rainbow

Published Fri 26 Jul 2019

They say that rainbows are lucky and for some they were but for others taking part in last Saturdays 3rd CPYC State Time Trialling event they are still chasing that elusive win with 48 boats taking to the water on a day where the weather threw everything at us which at times made it quite a challenge for skippers to see the marks through driving rain and get that zero.

It was just as hard for checkpoint duty boats to get the job done on a cold windy and wet day but as usual they did a great job and so did the winning skippers and navigators with South of Perth Yacht Clubs “Dalusional” claiming 1st Place and the Least Points score of 6 on the day Skippered by Troy Dalglish and Navigator Victoria Blanckensee and in 2nd Place “Liquid Asset 2” with a score of 8 points Skipper Paul Hodgson and Navigator Mairead Hodgson from Claremont Yacht Club and from South of Perth Yacht Club in 3rd Place with 9 points “Purrfect” Skipper John Cooper and Navigator Lynne Cooper.

Congratulations to all the winners and to everyone who braved the wintery weather and got out on the water we were though treated to some spectacular rainbows on the day. Heat 4 will be held on the 17th of August followed by what is always a great night of food and entertainment as Claremont Yacht Club are our hosts for the Heat 4 dinner, look out for the flyer with booking information at your club shortly.
