Rob Brown OAM Joins Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron

One of Austalia’s best known yachtsmen for his role as a crew member on Australia II when Australia won the America’s Cup in 1983, Rob Brown OAM, has started in a new role at RQYS in Manly, Qld, as Business Development Manager.

Rob is well known for his world-class performances in ocean racing and skippering class winning national championships and coaching but is also experienced in the corporate world dealing with media, project & general management as well as project development.

“We are extremely excited to have a sports professional like Rob join our team at a critical time to assist in building a rapport and strategic alliances with key stakeholders to achieve best outcomes in the lead up to the Olympic Games Sailing program in 2032” commented RQYS Commodore David Redfern.

Rob will be working closely with the RQYS Board, CEO and respective Committees to build support and develop strategies which will align with the Squadron’s objectives and future masterplans, particularly focussed on the next 10 years.

Rob is a recent arrival as a Queensland resident, and is keen to share his skills, experience and larrikin sense of humour.  He is an accomplished speaker, motivator, sports coach and event manager.
