Preparations begin for 2020 Fremantle to Bali Ocean Classic

Published Thu 23 May 2019

It is just under a year to go until the intrepid yachtsmen and women will depart in the Fremantle to Bali Ocean Classic.

Fremantle Sailing Club invites the entire Australasian sailing community to start preparing for this gateway event. The seventh edition of this classic Western Australian race was extended by a year to coincide with the 100th anniversary of this iconic club.

What better way to finish a race than to arrive at tropical islands, warm balmy breezes and crystal-clear waters?

At 1440 nautical miles the diversity of seaside and open ocean is just as expansive as the type of boats and people the event attracts. Current expressions of interest in registering for the event topple the 50-yacht mark, with the rally fleet dominating with 27 entries. A little sensible planning supported by the clubs frequent and very popular Topic Nights, what is holding you back?

100 years in the making, this event precedes the Darwin to Dili, Darwin to Ambon and plethora of regattas through Thailand and Asia including the Kings Cup. A Bucket List race for sure.
