ORC Club Rating: New Clubs have joined the game!

Published Thu 13 Aug 2020

Southport Yacht Club and the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron have recently decided to implement the ORC Club rating for their Club series.  They are joining the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club and Balmain Sailing Club, who are also utilising this Ratings system. During the last six months, ORC Club rating has generated a lot of interest from Clubs in NSW, VIC and QLD and these four clubs will soon be joined by many others.

ORC Club has got all the characteristics to be the perfect club rating. It is at the same time:
•    Affordable! The rating certificate costs just $90 per year and for any clubs adopting the ORC Club rating for the first time across their club, Australian Sailing is offering a 50% discount for the club’s first year.
•    Easy to use! Measurements are declared by the owner or the club measurer to avoid any extra costs.
•    Accurate! ORC Club is using the ORC rating software which is one of the best rating calculations available.

ORC Club is filling the gap between PHS and IRC/ORCi and is helping bring sailors into competitive racing without increasing the costs or complexity.
