NSW Maritime - Expired Flares Collection Program 

The 2022-23 marine flare collection schedule begins on 17 November 2022 and runs to 16 April 2023. It includes collections at more than 50 locations from Tweed Heads to Eden. Most flares have a use-by-date of three years and penalties apply if they are not replaced before the expiry date. It is the responsibility of marine flare owners to dispose of the expired flares in a safe and timely manner.
