Marketing with Australian Sailing: Discover Sailing Day
Discover Sailing Day is an important component of the Discover Sailing Program. Designed to attract participants to your club on the day, and to send a strong message to your local community that your club is open and welcomes new participants!
All clubs can run a Discover Sailing Day, your club does not need to be an accredited Discover Sailing Centre to run a Discover Sailing Day event.
There are several specific resources relating to this campaign that have been created specifically for the purpose of club use.
Handbook
To assist your club in holding a Discover Sailing Day event this Spring/Summer, Australian Sailing has prepared a handbook. This handbook provides clubs with a step-by-step guide on how to run your Discover Sailing Day event and can be accessed here.

Social Media Template
The social media template is editable and allows for an organisation to insert their own relevant image. Due to this design, the template can be specific to each club or association and therefore showcase your best images.
To use the template, first download it here, and then insert an image by clicking the add picture icon. Ensure you 'Save as' a JPEG to your files which you can then post on your club’s social media channels.
When posting this template, be sure to give details of your event time and date in your accompanying text and use the hashtag #DiscoverSailingDay.

Poster Template
Similar to the social media template, the Discover Sailing Day poster template offers clubs a professional and editable option for marketing their club and sailing as a whole. Users can enter their details, images and club logo and print out posters for display in and around their club/community. The poster template can be downloaded here.
Promotional Videos
The Discover Sailing 'Have a Go' promotional videos are available for clubs to download and use via their social channels, websites and in-venue screens to promote the various sailing programs. The below generic 'Discover Sailing' video is a good one to showcase when promoting your Discover Sailing event:
When posting the video to social media, ensure you use accompanying text to encourage your community to give sailing a go, and link back to your website or Discover Sailing Day information pack so the audience can get further information.
Teardrop Banners
Teardrop banners provide great outdoor branding and colour at Discover Sailing Day events. The artwork for these can downloaded here and printed at your local officeworks or printer.
