Learn to Wing Program launched for Discover Sailing Centres

Published Wed 26 Jul 2023

Australian Sailing is delighted to launch The Learn to Wing Program, the new program for Discover Sailing Centres (DSCs) which is designed to assist in introducing new participants to the exciting discipline.

The program is made up of two different parts – the full Learn to Wing Course and the Learn to Wing Experience.

The full Learn to Wing course, is nine hours in total and can be delivered over several separate ‘’bite-sized’’ sessions, providing participants with the fundamental skills of sailing using a wing to move them along on a non-foiling board, largely utilising stand up paddleboards (SUP’s) or stable Windsurf boards which many clubs and centres already own.

The Learn to Wing Experience, is essentially the first 3.5hrs of the full course, and can be delivered either as a stand-alone experience, or as part of an OutThere Sailing offering. It is completely up to your club or DSC how you wish to utilise the Experience in your environment.

To assist clubs and centres further with the delivery of the program, Australian sailing has sourced a 50% discount on equipment for DSC’s through a partnership with North Action Group. If your DSC would like to access the deal, please contact Sylvain Mitault direct at NAG, via email or phone, salesau@northasg.com / 0424 681 859.
