International 14’s on the River

The International 14 Association of Western Australia is currently hosting the i14’s World Sailing Championships at the Perth Dinghy Sailing Club. The event started on December 29 and continues till next Friday, January 10.

41 yachts from all over Australia are joined by 26 yachts and their sailors from USA (8), UK (9), Canada (6) with a duo from Japan and a solo entry from Italy. Sailors will compete in the Australian Championship as well as the World Championships at the same event. If this wasn’t enough the format also introduces Teams Racing, where competitors can group together and hatch whole course strategies and tactics. Not just who gets to the finish line first.

Perth Dinghy Sailing Club is in an ideal location looking East with the impressive Perth CBD skyline as their backdrop. Racing will be happening all weekend right in front of the clubhouse, so head on down and enjoy the famous BBQ’s and hospitality the club has to offer.
