General Manager - Tasmania Monthly Update December 2023

Published Wed 20 Dec 2023

It is always enjoyable visiting sailing clubs and listening to the stories about how passionate our sailors are and how resilient they become dealing with the many unpredictable elements when sailing. I recently heard a story of a young sabot sailor who had finished their race exhausted and drifting across the line capsized. They didn’t give up but then quickly righted their boat and went straight back to the start line for more racing! Over the summer I am sure that there will be many stories created and I would love to hear about them and share them with our sailing community. If you have a sailing story and think other people would enjoy hearing about, please email it to me felicity.allison@sailing.org.au

With numerous sailing events happening over the summer, I wish sailors, clubs and volunteers all the best and hope that the weather is fair and settled!

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

AS Office Closure - The office will be closed from Friday, 22nd December to Sunday, 7th January 2024.

Survey – The ‘Sailing Participant Pathway’

Australian Sailing is seeking feedback on how we can visually represent our sport effectively in a concise, one-page format through the development of a 'Sailing Participant Pathway.' We invite you to share your thoughts on how we can best illustrate a comprehensive sailing participant pathway that reflects all forms, stages, and roles of sailing participation by taking a moment to complete this brief survey here.

Participation Programs

Participation Programs are key to facilitating and growing membership, as they focus on retaining and developing sailors, coaches, and volunteers, and are designed with flexibility in mind, allowing clubs and class associations to adapt to how people choose to participate.
