Emerging Coach and Official Leadership Series 2021

Dr Sandy Gordon from Performance Perspectives International will deliver the program and is a trained and authorised user of the two diagnostic tools. Sandy is a trained sport psychologist who has developed the course content from a researched, professional perspective.

All modules will be delivered between 5.00pm to 9.00pm, applicants will need to be available during these hours. All modules will be delivered at the department's Leederville office. Applicants should note these dates in their calendars until the candidates are selected and confirmed. A maximum of 20 candidates will be selected for the program, with successful applicants determined through an application and selection process.

A summary of the program content is highlighted below;

Workshop 1: Positive Meaning: Leading Self & Enhancing Emotional Intelligence – April 21st
This workshop explores understanding self through DISC Sport data interpretation, mental models, and understanding different emotions and how to manage them.

Workshop 2: Positive Psychology Coaching: Individual and Team – May 18th
This workshop explores Strengths Profile data and strengths-based approaches to enhancing performance and personal growth.

Workshop 3: Positive Psychology Coaching: Mental skills – June 30th
This workshop focuses on leading the development of key mental skills: self-regulation, concentration, confidence and the Zone.

Workshop 4: Resilience and Mental Toughness – July 28th
This workshop explores how to manage stress, create proactive and reactive resilience strategies, and enhance emotional resilience for personal effectiveness.

Workshop 5: Positive Communication and Positive Climate – 25th August
This workshop invites participants to reflect on their VIA strengths, proficiency in giving and receiving feedback, actively and constructively responding to those they lead, and using positive communication to create positive performance climates.

Workshop 6: Positive Relationships: Managing Others and Managing Change – 29th September
This workshop focuses on developing personal power, using DISC data to recognize and adapt to difficult people, fostering positive relationships, understanding emotional responses to change and transitions, and developing positive team cultures.
