Course Overview

Foundation Coach Course is designed as the entry into coaching, introducing fundamental coaching skills and technical knowledge on and off the water.

The course builds on the instructor and experienced sailors’ knowledge and caters for those working with participants who have learnt the basics and want to develop their skills to be independent and confident on the water, so that they can enjoy recreational sailing and/or foundation level racing (Green Fleet) with confidence.

Course Prerequisites

• Comply with the State/Territory legislation including, but not only, child protection laws (if applicable in that state)
• Hold a current Australian HLTAID003/011 - Provide First Aid Certificate (or higher)
• Hold a current maritime licence, or state equivalent
• Hold an Australian Sailing Dinghy, Keelboat or Windsurfing Instructor qualification

         OR

• Hold an Australian Sailing Safety Boat Operator Certificate
  Have completed the Australian Sailing Sailing Coach General Principles e-learning
