Inaugural Australian Para-Sailing Championships Celebrate Inclusiveness at Sail Melbourne

The inaugural Australian Para Sailing Championships wrapped up successfully at Sail Melbourne International 2018 on Sunday (16 December 2018) after some competitive racing across the fleets. The first-time event featured Australia’s best para-sailors with Australian Para-Sailing Champions determined in four classes, including the Hansa 303 one-person, Hansa 303 two-person, the 2.4mR as well as the SKUD 18.

WYC Montalto WoW Regatta a hit with competitors

Lucy Townson from Royal Geelong YC, and Westernport Yacht Club local Issy Barden are the 2018 Montalto Women on Water Regatta perpetual trophy winners. Both Lucy and Issy were recognised for their race results, sportsmanship, enthusiasm, passion and determination across the weekend. They were both extremely committed to learning and their lovely attitude over the weekend was noticed by all competitors, volunteers and race officials.

Sail Melbourne International 2018 Wraps Up With Full day of Racing

Racing at Sail Melbourne International 2018 wrapped up with a full final day of racing across all Olympic and Invited class fleets. After challenging race disruptions over the four-day event, caused by the current weather system sitting over Australia’s east coast, it was a welcome finish for the close to 400 competitors from all across Australia and from 18 countries.

Final summer stunner brings Sail Sydney 2018 to a close

The regatta has kicked off a busy Australian summer of sailing, from Sabots and skiffs to supermaxis prepping for the Sydney Hobart race which is fast approaching.

Olympic classes decided at Sail Sydney 2018

Olympic class racing at Sail Sydney 2018 came to an end on Sydney Harbour today in fresh summer breezes 13 to 19 knots, with Australian Sailing Team and Squad athletes earning a swag of medals for their effort in mixed conditions over four days.
