New champions were crowned in NSW ORC, Australian Sports Boat and the Sydney 38 One-Design NSW Championships on the final day of the Pantaenius Pittwater Regatta this evening, while prizes were awarded to winners in the Super 40s, Pittwater Cup Series and Grand Soleil Yachts Cup.
The Australian & International Hansa Class Associations are seeking offers of Hansa Class sailboats and support RHIBs for charter to competitors in the 2025 Hansa Class World and International Championships, which incorporates the 2025 NSW and Australian Championships at Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club from 23rd to 30th March 2025. Several of the competitors are unable to bring their own boats and would like to charter a boat locally.
We are pleased to announce we are again holding our annual ANZAC day regatta... on ANZAC day! With all off the beach monohulls and cats welcome as well as other craft, such as the magnificent historic class boats, this regatta completes our season and is our best annual event!

DBSC sailors were treated to a visit from Olympic medalist Lijia (Lily) Xu. Lily won Gold for China in 2012 (London Olympics), and before that, bronze in 2008 (Beijing Olympics) amongst many other accolades racing in ILCA 6 Radials. She’s currently visiting Sydney to enjoy some warm weather and checkout all that our Harbour has to offer! We welcome Lily and her husband Jon Emmitt (Worlds Masters ILCA 6 Champ) to join us again on 8 February.
Cole Tapper, Max Brennan, Jack Frewin & Hamish Vass have won the 2025 Helly Hansen International, claiming the Joy Ride Perpetual Trophy for a second time over Jeffrey Petersen, Enzo Menditto, Spencer Kriestein, Justin Callahan, Mitchell Callahan from the United States of America.
Members of World Sailing’s Committees and Sub-Committees will work within their terms of reference to provide guidance to World Sailing and positively impact the sport for sailors worldwide.
The 2025 Optimist Australian Championship was held at RQYS in January. This event is the sole selection event for the Australian Optimist Sailing Team (AOST) where representative teams are selected to attend the Optimist Class World Championship, European Championship and the Asian & Oceanian Championship.
