Double Bay Sailing Club (DBSC) is a club that is passionately leading the way with its sustainability practices. As well as implementing a range of energy efficient initiatives including power-saving light bulbs and timers for hot water, DBSC also has systems in place to separate waste streams and actively encourages and participates in recycling.

On Thursday 7th September 2023, the Queensland sailing community got together at the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron for the announcement of the winners for the 2023 Queensland Sailing Awards. It was a gala event with over 90 people celebrating the finalists and winners of each award.
Australian Sailing has adopted the National Integrity Framework (NIF), as a streamlined approach in a single framework for all levels of sailing and where the policies in the NIF apply to all affiliated clubs and class associations, and the people who participate in and help deliver activities.
It was back to business for ‘It’s Live in Queensland Race Day’ out on the Bay for the 16th running of SeaLink Magnetic Island Race Week (SMIRW on another light breeze day, but at least it filled in at a steady pace so the fleet could get away from 11.35am and it produced new winners.

With multiple pathways, classes, and opportunities available to choose from, some people choose one pathway enjoying years of sailing to master their chosen class, whilst some change often, and some choose more than one pathway and more than one class to sail in parallel to another.
