Understanding Participation Programs

12 months ago, Australian Sailing released the Participation Programs which provide clubs and class associations with the coaching frameworks and tools to deliver programs across the 3 levels of; Green, Intermediate and Advanced, assisting with developing members skills and knowledge beyond their initial learn to sail activities.

Shelley Sailing Club (SSC) was established in 1974 on the beautiful Canning River, a relatively quiet area with generally shallow waters, providing great conditions for people of all ages to learn to sail. SSC caters specifically for family sailing which makes it the perfect club for a family day out.

Why not try Wing-surfing? Wing-surfing, and the more advanced wing-foiling, is the latest water sports craze to hit our waters. Unlike windsurfing, the wing isn’t attached to the board, but is controlled by your hands whilst standing on a board. It is a fantastic way to get more time on the water and to learn new skills.

Learn to Wing program – Coming Soon

Australian Sailing will shortly be launching our latest Discover Sailing program – Learn to Wing. The program will be ready to launch at accredited Discover Sailing Centres in time for the summer season, and in preparation we will shortly be announcing Instructor Training to ensure your instructors are trained and ready to deliver this exciting new program.
