The 2021 Tasmanian Sailing Awards

On Saturday evening, the 2021 Australian Sailing State Awards evening was held at Bellerive Yacht Club. The Australian Sailing Awards, for Tasmania, recognise the outstanding contributions and achievements by clubs and individuals in the Tasmanian sailing community. As well as recognising our sports people, the awards acknowledge the huge contribution made by volunteers and media representatives.

Upcoming Australian Sailing Courses Tasmania

Over the coming months, Australian Sailing in conjunction with local clubs are hosting a number of Officials, Sailing Coach and Instructor and Assistant Instructor courses, giving yourself and your club members the opportunity to up skill and obtain Australian Sailing qualifications.

In response to our ever-growing list of Tasmanian Sailing Events, we have created an online calendar for Club Officials to use when planning their future calendar of events. Our overall events policy is to increase participation at already existing events and not overcrowd the calendar with new events.

Tasmanian Grants - Improving the Playing Field

Applications for the 2021-22 Improving the Playing Field Program are now open. The $10 million Program provides financial assistance to upgrade amenities at sporting facilities around Tasmania, allowing them to cater for all participants. There is $10 million in funding available under this program in 2021-22. Applicants can apply for funding of between $25 000 and $500 000 per project.

Tasmanian Club Conference 2021 Wrap Up

On Saturday 3rd July Australian Sailing hosted the annual Tasmanian Club Conference at the Derwent Sailing Squadron. With an attendance of 37 club personnel, the day was filled with several insightful presentations from various parts of the sporting community. Thank you to all who attended and those who took the time to speak, it was a great day.
