The Gold Coast turned on idyllic sailing conditions earlier today for the second round of racing in the twelfth staging of the annual Bartercard Sail Paradise Regatta.
The ASBA 2020 QLD State Titles hosted by Bundaberg Sailing Club were run and won over the 28th and 29th of November. This regatta was one of the standout regattas after the season was interrupted by COVID-19.
The recent opening of the borders, to the southern states, has brought an influx of new competitor registrations for the Bartercard Sail Paradise event. This will be the largest fleet in the 12 years of the Regatta running—an exciting time for Southport Yacht Club who will be celebrating their 75th Birthday in 2021.
The Whitsunday Sailing Club has this weekend elected and sworn in its first ever female Commodore. Heather Sutton, the first female Commodore in the club’s history joins the existing team as the newest Commodore to be elected and sworn in at the recent Annual General Meeting.
