Stage is set for Flinders Islet show down

The second act of the Audi Centre Sydney Blue Water Pointscore Series (Audi Centre Sydney BWPS) sets off this Saturday, in what looks to be tactical northerly conditions. Thirty five yachts will compete in the 92-nautical-mile dash from Sydney to Flinders Islet, south-east of Wollongong, and back.

Quick claims two from two

Tom and Alan Quick’s Outlaw sailed in a league of its own at the three-day Farr 40 National Championship for the John Calvert-Jones Trophy. Eight wins from 10 starts saw the crew cream the rest of the fleet and create an extraordinary 22-point buffer back to second.

The Wollongong Yacht Club plans expansion having successfully secured The Community Building Partnerships Grant

Sailing is a rapidly growing sport and recreation creating demand for more facilities. The Wollongong Yacht Club has occupied a small building at Wollongong Harbour for the last five years but it has always had limited space. On Monday Wollongong MP Paul Scully had some good news for the club when he awarded it $15,000 for the construction of an awning and pergola. “This will expand their space in the cafe area,” he said.
