Cairns Yacht Club overlooks the marina and waterfront of Trinity Inlet in the heart of Cairns, Far North Queensland. The club boasts a second superb dinghy location 30 kms north of the city at beautiful Ellis Beach. The history of the club stretches over a fascinating114 years including the founding years when the club was responsible for constructing some of the first navigation towers in the area.

The club is an integral part of the township especially since fishing is a popular pastime of locals with most people owning a boat of some kind, as such the boat ramp is always busy with a steady stream of boats going in and out most days.

Sandy Bay Sailing Club (SBSC) is a volunteer junior club situated on the picturesque Derwent River in Hobart, Tasmania. Formed on 1 March 1948, SBSC has grown to accommodate a wide range of dinghy classes including International Optimist, International Cadet, Lasers, 29ers, Waszp’s and Windsurfer fleets.

Concord & Ryde Sailing Club (CRSC) has been sailing Sydney’s Parramatta River between Putney and Rhodes since 1945 with the 2021 / 2021 season marking its 75th season! The CRSC culture is one of comradery on and off the water, focused on enjoying sailing with friendly competition. The club has several families who sail on a regular basis have three generations sailing in the one race.

Club in Focus: Darwin Sailing Club (DSC)

Darwin Sailing Club boasts spectacular sunsets, stunning warm weather year round, close proximity to quality cruising ground with Indonesia only 2 days sail away! Racing is conducted in the Dry Season (April-Oct) when the Harbour is free from stingers, crocs and cyclones. Darwin Harbour is 5 x bigger than Sydney Harbour, has 8m tides, a sandbar in the middle (a great picnic spot) and is a commercial shipping port making some interesting racing when Harbour Courses are scheduled.
