WASS is the Pathway Program of the WAIS Sailing Squad. The WASS program’s mission is to provide opportunities for talented and determined Western Australian sailors to develop high performance sailing and life skills to progress successfully into the Olympic Class Sailing Arena.
Situated in Western Australia on the edge of the Indian Ocean within the Mandurah Marina, the Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club Inc (MOFSC) boasts world class sailing waters, offshore fishing locations as well as easy access to the Indian Ocean, The Harvey Estuary, Peel inlet, Serpentine and Murray Rivers.
During the 2021-22 financial year, Australian Sailing is incentivising RST Assessors to conduct training and assessment within the grounds of affiliated Australian Sailing Clubs and Discover Sailing Centres.
Registrations are open for the inaugural WA Youth Sail, which encompasses the Westsail Coaching Clinic and WA Youth Championships. This year’s event is hosted by Hillarys Yacht Club, in the pristine waters of the Indian Ocean. Westsail Coaching Clinic also will be different to previous years, with a select group of sailors being invited to a Residential Camp at Ern Halliday.
The 2021 WA Club Conference was held on 17 July and was well supported by many members of our sailing community, with 71 people representing 23 Clubs and Class Associations.
Dates for the 2021 Australian Sailing Club Conferences have been locked in, with events in six major cities as well as additional webinars to provide Club officials with more opportunities to hear from leaders in our sport.
The Coach and Official Education Subsidy Round 2 is now open and closes on the 26 April 2021. Eligible dates of travel for courses are between: 28 February 2021 to 31 August 2021.
