2020 Flying Fifteen Australian Championship

A fleet of 20 Flying Fifteens made the long journey from all over Australia to compete at the 2020 Flying Fifteen Australian Championship held in Waterloo Bay just south of the Brisbane River in Queensland. Some competitors had a long journey navigating around a host of bush fires still plaguing the country. Visitors came from as far as England, Darwin, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney.

Sail Brisbane 2019

The Sail Brisbane regatta concluded today on the waters of Waterloo Bay, hosted by the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron. The event was the Queensland Championships for the VXOne class, as well as the International 29ers, and joining them were strong fleets of Finns, Lasers, OK’s, Flying 11s, Sailboards and Optimists. Over 130 boats took part in the annual event that serves as a warm-up for many sailors competing at their class Nationals over the Summer.

2019 Queensland Yachting Championships

The 2019 Queensland Yachting Championships, incorporating the Queensland IRC Championships, were held at the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron on the 28th and 29th of September in winds ranging from Light Oscillating through to a powerful 20 to 25 knot Northerly; under the supervision of Principal Race Officer John Obrien.

2019 Queensland Clubs Conference Wrap Up

Over 60 participants from 53% of the Queensland Sailing Clubs participated in this years Queensland Clubs Conference making it the biggest conference yet. It was a great weekend full of presentations from industry experts, case studies of success stories shared by fellow clubs and insights and updates on relevant topics from key Australian Sailing Staff.
