Sarah Ogilvie joined the Australian Sailing team in January 2021, in an exciting new role; National Club Pathway Lead. Sarah has been working with clubs, coaches and stakeholders across the nation; listening to their concerns and implementing their insights into development of a club pathway structure and is about to enter the next phase of the process.

AusPlay Survey: Sailing & Other Olympic Sports

AusPlay commenced in October 2015 and is the largest and most comprehensive survey of its kind ever conducted in Australia. Each year, 20,000 adults aged 15+ complete the survey. Apart from providing information about their own participation, parents/guardians of children under the age of 15 are asked about organised physical activities undertaken by one of their children outside of school hours.

The third quarterly report for the year brings us closer to the end of the season. Pleasingly membership numbers across the country seem to be holding steady and we continue to work with Clubs to ensure the data in their revSPORT portals is accurate. Our aim is to continue to decrease the ‘Unpaid or Not Categorised’ people within the system, to ensure that we have the most accurate figures.

New Judge Policy Update

The new Australian Sailing Judge Accreditation Policy is now active and its resources are available from the Australian Sailing website. The new policy contains changes to the Australian Sailing’s Judge qualification structure, qualification requirements, assessment and training resources.
