Overview
The re-accreditation process aims to ensure quality instruction is occurring and provides participants an opportunity to be updated with the latest resources and information. Participants will deliver a practical session and receive feedback and support.
Prerequisites
- Be Water Confident
- Comply with the State/Territory legislation including, but not only, child protection laws (if applicable in that state). Please click here for details on your State/Territories child protection requirements.
- Hold the level of competence in the program you wish to instruct
- Hold a current Australian HLTAID003/011 - ProvideFirst Aid Certificate
- Hold a current maritime licence, or state equivalent
- Hold an Australian Sailing Powerboat Handling Certificate

Hold current Windsurfing Instructor Qualification (cannot be lapsed more than 12 months)

- Complete the Australian Sailing Instructor General Principles - online learning course
Who should do this course?
This course is for anyone looking to reaccredit their Windsurfing Instructor qualification and continue instructing the Windsurfing learn to sail program at an accredited Discover Sailing Centre.

Outcome
This process aims to maintain skills and knowledge in some of the following areas:
- General Instructing skills - Communication, planning, etc
- Fundamental sailing skills: Tacking, gybing, self-rescues, etc
- Powerboat skills, whilst instructing
Pending your success, you will gain the Windsurfing Instructor qualification for a further 5 years.
